This website will feature all my attempts at railway modeling and as my skills improve so will the content of the website! I started off with Eastley Mk1. This was something I made to pass time before moving house. This layout was small enough to fit under a single bed and was a good way to practice various modeling techniques and get into DCC. I have now been well and truly bitten by the bug and will be completely rebuilding this layout so that I can have 2 tracks instead of one and also a much improved fiddle yard and joined split levels. Of course this will take up more space than my first attempt but It will still be a compact layout which will have to make clever use of the available space.
Another project Is a scrap yard micro layout. This will still be in OO gauge and will only feature a couple of shunting tracks. The main draw will be the scenry and the quality of the models. I plan to Fit my 2 Hornby shunters with Sound and lights, something which I will cover on my site as it happens. And I would like to convert my Rail Freight class 20 into a DRS class 20/3.
It took me quite a while to decide on a name, I wanted to avoid using anywhere real as my layout is not based on any particular location. I did however want it to look as though it could be set in Leeds where I live. so Eastley is simply 'east Leeds' with the EDS replaced with a Y.
On my new layout I will try to feature more references to the area such as Leeds busses and local businesses.
